Machine Heads and Tuning Pegs

We carry a full line of machine heads and tuning pegs for guitar, mandolin, banjo, dulcimer, and ukulele. Take a look at the sections below to see if have what you're looking for.

Vertical and Horizontal Machine Heads Explained

The terms vertical and horizontal refer to the manner in which the posts of the machine heads function.
Posts which stick up through the back of the peghead are called vertical. If your instrument has circular holes bored in it for a post you need vertical machine heads.
Posts which run through a slot in the peghead are horizontal. If your instrument has a slotted peghead you use horizontal machine heads.
A few machine heads have posts with two holes drilled in them. One on the end and one in the middle which allows them to be used on a vertical or horizontal peghead.
